Media Colonized is a series portraying the colonizing action of post-capitalist media on a woman’s body and mind. The process of making these paintings started with sketches of the “positions” I wanted to portray, followed by photo shoots with models who posed for me. Afterwards, I would select and make the “cultural” layer of the background collage using newsprint and magazines, then drawing and painting the figures into it using my sketches and photographs.
